Canadian physician and politician who was a Member of the Canadian Parliament for Cape Breton from 1879 to 1882. He was a Free Church leader in Mira Ferry and was elected third Moderator of the Presbyterian Church in Canada in 1877.
He went to the Sydney Academy and Dalhousie University and graduated from Bellevue Hospital Medical College in 1875.
He was appointed Medical Superintendent of Quarantine at Sydney in 1883.
He married Jessie McIntosh who was a key leader in the Women’s Missionary Society.
