British actor who is famous for his career throughout film and TV, including in The Bill, Where the Heart Is, and EastEnders as Derek Branning in 1996. He starred as General Benningsen in the BBC One adaptation of War & Peace in 2016.

He earned his acting degree from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art. He earned his first on-screen acting credit in 1985 in a guest starring capacity in Marjorie and Men.

He appeared as the head of the London fire department in the 2016 film London Has Fallen. He passed away unexpectedly in November 2017 at his home in England.
