Hotel industry entrepreneur who was the Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Kerzner International. He was also the founder of South Africa’s two largest hotel groups and was a boon to the tourism industry there. 

His career in the hotel industry began with his purchase of the Astra Hotel in Durban in 1962.

He opened the Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut in 1996.

In 1980, he married Anneline Kriel, Miss South Africa and Miss World 1974, but the two got divorced five years later.

He built a 6,000 set arena which played host to performers like Frank Sinatra.
