Mexican poet who is considered a key voice in twentieth century Mexican literature for her works dealing with issues of feminism and oppression. Some of her best known works include the poem “Valium 10” and the book Balun Canan.
She attended the National Autonomous University of Mexico, where she studied Literature and Philosophy.
She was politically active, being named Ambassador to Israel in 1971.
