She attended Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism. She started as a journalist for various networks, first in Arkansas for KSFM-TV in Fayetteville, then in Tennessee for WMC-TV out of Bennington. She joined WSB-TV in Atlanta, Georgia in 1998.
