Philadelphia Eagles legend who played all seven seasons of his NFL career with the team, winning back-to-back NFL Championships in 1948 and 1949. He was elected to the NFL’s All-Decade Team for the 1940’s.

He and his family moved to Philadelphia when he was 6 years old. He began playing professional football in 1934, earning just $7 per game.

He set a long-standing Eagles record by scoring a touchdown of 60 or more yards in 3 consecutive games.

His wife Connie passed away in 1993. He was survived by a son, Joseph, and a daughter, Jacqui.

He won both of his NFL Championships playing for Hall of Fame head coach Greasy Neale.
