Painter whose “Cinik” exemplified the Croatian expressionism movement. He was a longtime contributor to Zenit, an avant-garde magazine that was published in his local community.
He served in World War I and became a prisoner of war in Italy. He was part of The Prague Four, which also consisted of Milivoj Uzelac, Marijan Trepše, and Vladimir Varlaj, of the Zagreb Spring Salon in the 1920s.
He was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease in his late thirties. Sadly, his illness affected his ability to create art.
He and his parents lived in Australia for a three-year period during his early childhood.
He and Adolph Alexander Weinman both worked as sculptors.
