Legendary comic book artist and founder of The Kubert School whose work included “Sgt. Rock,” “Hawkman,” “Tor,” and “Tales of the Green Beret.” His 2003 graphic novel, “Yossel: April 19, 1943,” garnered great acclaim.
He attended Manhattan’s High School of Music and Art with future collaborator Norman Maurer. They often cut class to pitch their work to various publishers.
