Estonian-Canadian architect who was active during the second half of the 20th century. His specialty was university student residences, including Neill-Wycik College, Laurentian University, and Halifax’s Saint Mary’s University.

He began his studies at the Technical University in Tallinn, but his education was interrupted there by World War II. He graduated from the Stockholm Technical Institute in 1948 with a degree in marine engineering. He relocated to Canada in 1948, where he received further education at the University of Toronto, graduating in 1953 with a Bachelor of Architecture.

He founded an academic program for Estonian studies in Toronto, Canada.

His father, Stron Tampold, was also an architect. He and his wife, Leida, settled in Toronto.

He and politician Peeter Lepp were both natives of Estonia.
